And it would just make the game feel better overall. Need to go back to chain combos that only work on hit and block, like in MK3/4.Īnimations would still suck, but they wouldn't linger on the screen forever for you to notice them sucking. Then the awkward combo strings, which take forever, and look silly, and you can do the full combo on wiff. In MK9 and Injustice, characters have very slow attacks compared to basically any other 2D fighting game on the market.

Specifically the slow as shit normals and combo strings. The best way to "fix" the animations would be for them further remove all the 3D mechanics from their engine. They have gone on record saying its their style and they like it, and the people who have been mokaping and animating for them have been working at the studio for 15+ years, and I doubt they are going to fire anybody at this point. They are never going to change their animations. It's supposed to be this big reboot, but they just took reaper's scythe to the cast in the story.Īlso, Shinnok can be in, but, do, like, something, to make him actually badass and not this doofus. I still don't know what they were thinking with the game's storyline. He knows what's up.Īnd bring back most of the characters from MK9, I'd rather not see what kind of cast they attempt to make after murdering a good half of the best characters in the game's storyline.

They need better designers over there that need to be told "less is sometimes more." A lot of them were overdesigned to the maximum. I don't know what the hell they were thinking when they did that, but Jesus. Kano get's his entire cheek ripped off in one of his costumes. I'd like to see battle damage stay, but at a level where you can believe the character who won will live to see another day and without radical reconstructive surgery.
